As an Interventional Radiologist I offer treatments in the areas of Arterial Vascular Disease, Venous Disease/Access, Interventional Oncology, Kyphoplasty, and Women's Health. My thoughtful and personalized approach allows me to tailor my treatments to the health and well-being of each of my patients.

Arterial Vascular Disease

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD or PVD) effects 8.5 million American each year and 12-20% of Americans over the age of 60 have PAD. PAD is often due to narrowing or blockage of blood vessels from atherosclerosis, which limits blood flow to the leg or arm.  Common symptoms include pain with walking, leg heaviness, cold feet or hands, decreased pulses, non healing wounds. I also offer specialized minimally invasive treatment of disease in arteries of the abdominal organs including the kidneys, bowel, liver, and spleen/pancreas.

I offer minimal invasive treatments of arterial vascular disease including:

Angioplasty (balloon expansion of narrowed vessels)

Stent placement

Atherectomy (removal of blockage/plaque from inside vessel)

Thrombolysis (removal of blood clot using medications or devices)

Embolization (using small particles or coils to block blood vessels from the inside) of acute GI bleeding or traumatic injury

Mesenteric Artery Stenting for Chronic Mesenteric Ischemia/Intestinal angina (pain during eating due to poor blood flow to intestines)

Renal Artery Stenosis/Renovascular hypertension treat with balloon angioplasty of stenting

Peripheral Aneurysm repair (abnormal outpouching of blood vessel) coiling/stenting

Venous Disease/Access

Venous disease is a condition that affects the proper flow of blood back to the heart.

I offer a wide array of minimally invasive treatments of many venous diseases and venous access issues including:

  • Venous Access maintenance including Mediport placement/removal, Phersis catheter placement, and other tunneled access catheters placements

  • Hemodialysis Access Maintenance-HD catheter placement, fistula declotting/declogging, and fistula angioplasty and stenting

  • Deep Vein Thrombus (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) thrombolysis (medications and/or devices to removed large amounts of clot from legs/pelvic/abdominal veins as well as arteries from the heart to the lungs)

  • Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement and removal (device placed in abdominal veins to prevent blood clot migration to the lungs)

  • Chronic Venous Occlusion recannulization with stent or balloon angioplasty

  • May Thurner’s syndrome stent treatment ( narrowing of the common iliac vein by adjacent artery leading to restrictive blood from the legs to the heart)

  • TIPS creation (shunt between portal veins and hepatic vein as a treatment for recurrent ascites or gastric/esophageal variceal bleeding in patient with chronic liver disease)

  • Gastric Variceal management with Balloon/Coil assisted retrograde transvenous obilteration (BRTO/CRTO)

Interventional Oncology

Interventional Radiologist have become an integral member of the Cancer Care Team. I work closely with my Oncology,  Surgery, and Radiation Oncology Colleagues to provide high quality care and treatments.

I offer minimally invasive treatments and procedures including:

  • Image guide biopsy to establish diagnosis or for staging of cancer

  • Central Venous access for chemotherapy deliver such as Mediports

  • Liver directed cancer therapies such chemoembolization and Y-90 Yttrium embolization (injecting small particles loaded with chemotherapy or radiation into arteries feeding tumor(s) within the liver including primary liver cancer (HCC) and metastatic cancer to liver (breast, colon, and neuroendocrine tumors)

  • Thermal ablation (using heat (RF or microwave) or cold (cryo) to kill tumors in the liver, kidney, bone/vertebrae, or lung.

Kyphoplasty/Vertebroplasty

There are approximately 1.5 million new vertebral compression fractures diagnosed each year in the US.  I use a minimally invasive approach to treat painful compression fractures of the spine due to osteoporosis or malignancy. Using imaging we introduce balloons into the affected bones followed by injection of medical grade cement to stabilize the fractures, promote healing, and provide pain relief.

Women's Heath Intervention

Uterine FIbroids are the most common benign tumor effecting women in the US. Symptoms often included heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic heaviness/pain, incontinence/frequent urination, and constipation. Uterine artery embolization has also been know to help those women suffering from heavy bleeding and pain related to endometriosis.  I offer a same day minimally alternative to conventional surgical management of fibroid disease (myomectomy/hysterectomy).

  • Uterine artery/fibroid embolization (minimally invasive treatment  where particles are injected into the uterine artery to shrink the tumor/tissue size & relieve symptoms)

  • Pelvic Congestion Syndrome for chronic pelvic pain (embolization/blockage of engorged pelvic/ovarian veins )

General Procedures

I also offer many other minimally invasive procedures including:

  • Biliary Drainage, Stone Removal, and Stent Placement (minimally invasive procedure to facilitate drainage of obstructed bile ducts in the liver, often after failed endoscopic approach)

  • Urinary tract intervention including Nephrostomy Tube ( tube to drain obstructed urine from the kidney or as access prior to kidney stone removal), Antegrade Ureteral Stent Placement (tube in ureter from kidney to bladder), Suprapubic catheter placement (tube into bladder for urinary retention)

  • Gastrostomy & Gastrojejunostomy  tube placement/management (feeding tube from skin to stomach/small intestine)

  • Abscess drain placement (image guided minimally invasive catheter placement in infected fluid collection within the body)

  • Management of chronic recurrent abdominal and chest fluid with imaged guided placement of tunneled (Aspira) catheter placement
